Nancy O'Dell's career began in Myrtle Beach South Carolina as a news reporter and anchor for WPDE-TV. She worked later as an anchor for morning news for WCBD TV and was the crime reporter. While in Charleston O'Dell's reporting regarding the police's lenient approach to DUI cases resulted in the launch of a State Law Enforcement Division investigation that led to state authorities re-issuing the strictest guidelines regarding these instances.
